Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label is a perfect example of harmony between delicacy and power. Our Brut Yellow Label reflects the superb vineyards we own and the consistent nature of our House style.
Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label manages to reconcile two opposing factors – strength and silkiness – and to hold them in perfect balance with aromatic intensity and a lot of freshness. This consistent power to please makes it ideal as an aperitif, and perfect as the Champagne to enjoy with a meal.
Veuve Clicquot has stayed true to this motto, “Only One Quality, The Finest”. In 1805, Madame Clicquot, a young widow of just 27, took over the reins of the House founded in Reims in 1772 and became one of the first business women in history.
Veuve Clicquot is rightly proud of the exceptional quality of wines: it’s vineyards are classified at an average of 96.9% being Grand or Premier Crus, long ageing such as over 30 months for Yellow Label (only 15 months legally required), and precious stocks of reserve (older) wines to ensure always a consistent yet complex champagne. The predominance of Pinot Noir provides the structure that is so typically Clicquot, while a touch of Pinot Meunier rounds out the blend. Chardonnay adds the elegance and finesse essential in a perfectly balanced wine, varietal composition 50 to 55% Pinot Noir, 15 to 20% Pinot Meunier, 28 to 33% Chardonnay.
