Tri-Luma Cream is a medicine that consists of Tretinoin, Hydroquinone, and Fluocinolone. It is used for the short-term treatment of moderate-to-severe melasma (a condition where dark, discoloured patches appear on the skin) of the face. This medicine acts by brightening the skin and decreasing the action of chemicals that cause dark patches, swelling, and irritation of the skin. Tri-Luma Cream may cause some side effects like redness, itching, irritation, or burning sensation at the site of application. Consult your doctor if these side effects persist or worsen. Your doctor may suggest a patch test (a small area of the skin is exposed to the medicine to check if it is safe and non-allergenic) before starting the treatment with Tri-Luma Cream. Stop using this medicine if you experience allergic reactions like skin rashes, hives (itchy, painful eruptions that sting), difficulty breathing, etc. Tri-Luma Cream is for external use only. Clean and dry the affected area before application. Apply a thin layer of this medicine over the affected area. Avoid contact with your eyes, nose, and mouth. Rinse with water immediately in case of accidental contact with these areas. Tri-Luma Cream may make your skin sensitive to sunlight, so use sunscreen or wear protective clothing while going out in the sun to protect your skin. It may take a few weeks or months to see an improvement in your condition. Therefore, take this medicine for the recommended duration. Tri-Luma Cream should be used upon your doctor’s recommendation if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding. It is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age.
